According to 2000 Bureau
of the Census information, 87.7 percent of the
adult population in Utah are high school
graduates. Twenty-six percent of adults age 25
and over in Utah have received bachelor degrees.
This reflects an understanding of the
implications of education and training on wages
and income. Persons with foreign language and
communications skills are abundant in Greater
Ogden. Ninety percent of the Davis County
population over the age of 25 have earned a high
school diploma or higher.
The Davis
County School District is the third largest in
the state, educating over 60,000 students daily.
In addition to standard classroom programs, there
are special activities for all levels of students.
The district has seven high schools, 12 junior
high schools and 46 elementary schools.
Davis County has a highly
educated work force. Plus, Employee Training
Programs are available through the Davis Applied
Technology Center which features:
Customized training; Hands-on career skills
training; Career counseling and more.
Weber County and
the State of Utah take pride in the achievements
of their education systems. Innovative programs
tying business to education are a thriving
success. Both the community and local business
have created programs providing welcome attention
to the students of our future.
Weber County
School District has a notable history of
progressive and innovative education which
actively promotes direct public involvement. In
1998 SAT scores were within or above the national
average at all grade levels tested.
Weber
County is the home of the Ogden-Weber
Applied
technology Center, which maintains an
average daily student body of 2,000 full- and
part-time students. The Ogden-Weber ATC offers
more than 300 courses in over 40 employment
categories.
