Ogden/Weber CVB Outdoor Adventure pages cover just about every seasonal activity you can imagine including: hiking, cycling, golf, kayaking, off-highway vehicles, recreational classes, winter and summer sports.

Utah Adventure Travel, especially their Destination Ogden page which gives the highlights of outdoor activities in Greater Ogden. The site contains information on hundreds of destinations statewide, from our famous national parks and monuments, to bike raceour all-season mountain resorts.

On Discover Davis follow the links to Tourism and then Recreation for ideas on hiking, cycling, camping, golf, and watersports. And don't forget their annual Moonlight Midnight Bike Ride.

Please don't do yourself a disservice by overlooking recreational opportunities in Morgan County, or beautiful Ogden Valley.

Hunting & Fishing

You can fish year-round in Utah. Hunting in Utah has become a popular family activity, and hunting tags are now sold by lottery. Golf

golfUtah has more golf courses per capita than anywhere else in the USA! Thanks to Utah’s diverse climate, you can golf every day of the year. In northern Utah, you can golf starting in early spring through late autumn. In the spring, you can even ski in the morning, then play golf in the valleys inthe afternoon! When it’s snowy up north, go down south to Utah’s "Dixie" and golf all winter!

Skiing

skiUtah is home to "The Greatest Snow On Earth"; an incredible 500 annual inches of dry powder snow; and an infrastructure of 14 mountain resorts.

Greater Ogden Area Ski Resorts:

  • Nordic Valley (Huntsville, east of Ogden – also has night skiing and tubing)

  • Powder Mountain Ski Resort (Huntsville, east of Ogden – also has night skiing, snowcat and helicopter skiing to remote slopes)

  • Snowbasin Ski Resort (Huntsville, east of Ogden)

    Ice Skating

    Ice skating is huge in Northern Utah. In fact, the Weber County Ice Sheet is one of the premier ice skating venues in the area. Located on the campus of Weber State University, the Ice Sheet offers skating opportunities including free skate, figure skating and ice hockey virtually around the clock.     State Parks and Forests

    campUtah has 45 state parks – too many to list here! For information, call (801) 538-7220 or go to Utah State Park List. Many of Utah’s State Parks have camping, fishing, boating, hiking, and other recreational activities.


    All Terrain Vehicles

    ATVThe best-known off-road state park is Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park near Kanab. The USDI Bureau of Land Management and USDA Forest Service manage many trails and areas throughout the state, which are open to all-terrain vehicles. There are a few in the Greater Ogden area. It is best to contact the land manager of the area in which you would like to ride, and contact that agency for their up-to-date recreation map, which will show trailheads, openings, and closures.
