Greater Ogden Area Arts & Entertainment

Economic development is the foundation of every community. But culture and creativity are primary building blocks of civilization and are vital to human happiness and social progress. Fortunately, Northern Utah has a thriving arts community! Please check the events calendar for entertainment in Greater Ogden.

Take a Gallery Stroll On 25th: a walking tour of art galleries held the first Friday of each month beginning at Ogden's Union Station and ending at the Eccles Community Art Center.  Check Ogden City's Street Stroll Page for time and place.

Every Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. the Davis County Arts and Humanities Council host some of our amazing local artists showcasing their talents at Layton's Kenley Centennial Amphitheater. This summer-long event is free and begins the second Sunday in June and continues through the summer until the last Sunday in August.

Utah Musical Theatre is a professionally structured, educationally founded and community supported stock theatre serving the artistic and cultural needs of Utah and the surrounding region. Utah Musical Theatre seeks to preserve and advance the musical theatre genre as well as expand its audience in both theatrical scope and artistic integrity. Utah Musical Theatre strives to serve the community by entertaining, enlightening and celebrating the best of the human spirit. Their home is the historic Peery's Egyptian Theatre in downtown Ogden.

On the second Monday of every month the
Bountiful Performing Arts Center presents the "Evening Out Series" at the BPAC BLACK BOX THEATER at 745 South Main Street, Bountiful (Bountiful/Davis Art Center building). These program are always "FREE" and family orientated. Programs range from one to one and a half hours. Seating is limited.

Or enjoy a good drama or musical at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse.

The Ogden Amphitheater hosts live entertainment during good weather periods of the year, and is the home of the summertime Talent in the Park series.

The Ogden Symphomy Ballet Association brings three full series of concerts by the Utah Symphony and a series of performances by Ballet West to Ogden each year.

If you enjoy an active night life, do yourself a favor and check the STREET Live Music Calendar and by all means make a habit of visiting Historic 25th Street's Beatniks Club.

State and national funds are funneled to the Utah Arts Council to stimulate and encourage the arts in the state. The council distributes funds appropriated directly for the arts by both the Utah State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts. It acts as a state coordinator and advisor, having an awareness of various programs that might be underway at any given time around the state. The council assists with professional help where needed and provides direct matching grants to more than 200 nonprofit organizations across the state.

Arts in Utah include the Utah Opera, the Shakespeare Festival, Broadway shows at the Capitol Theater, Ballet West, the Utah Symphony, the Repertory Dance Theater, and more. Many arts productions are taken "on the road" and can be enjoyed right here in Ogden!
