Northern Utah's
Greater Ogden
The Greater
Ogden region of Northern Utah
is no longer the best kept secret about the
Western United States! The 2002 Winter Olympics
introduced the world to us. We have been
discovered. Now it is your turn to personally
explore this area. This site is a shameless boast
of area brimming with untapped potential.
This web
site was personally designed with you in mind. I
hope you will find it a valuable resource for
community information on Weber, Davis, and Morgan
counties.
You will
find a wealth of information and links to
culture, education, and recreational resources.
Since I can't possibly put all the information
about this wonderful community on this site, much
of the information is conveyed by hyperlinks to
other web sites. These pages are an informational
directory.
The history
of the Greater Ogden Area is as unique and
colorful as anyplace in the nation. The challenge of bringing
fertility to an otherwise arid valley was
conquered by the perseverance of the settling
pioneers. Later the railroad boom brought a
diverse and enterprising citizenry unparalleled
in the great State of Utah.
The
area has enjoyed tremendous growth during the
last decade, and the 2002 Winter Olympics gave us
national visibility. Today the foundation
is being set for future growth. The City of
Ogden in particular has an attractive package of
development incentives that promise to positively
impact commercial and residential growth of the
city and surrounding residential communities.
The
State of Utah's Office of Planning and Budget
predicts Greater Ogden will grow by 10% in the
first decade of the new millenium, and by nearly
70% over the next 30 years. Strong neighborhoods,
great business and employment opportunities, and
excellent commercial centers continue to attract
people and business to Northern Utah. The
mountains and rivers provide extensive
recreational opportunities for outdoor adventures.
The great Northern Utah lifestyle has been
discovered!
Consider
the following:
The Progressive Policy
Institute ranked Utah 6th among the
nation's 50 states for its ability to
adapt well in the high-tech "new
economy." (April 2001)
A 1999 Dun &
Bradstreet study ranked Utah among the
top states in the nation for new
information technology start-up companies.
The Corporation for
Enterprise Development's annual Development
Report Card for the States 2001
listed Utah as tied for sixth place.
The U.S. Conference of
Mayors ranked the Ogden area 19th among
the fastest growing economies among U.S.
metropolitan areas. (July 10, 2001)
Places Rated Almanac, in
their millennium edition, named the Ogden
area as the number one place to live.
